			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Indians greet each other with Namaste.  The two palms are placed together in front of the chest and the</p>
<p>head bows whilst saying the word Namaste. This greeting is for all &#8211; people younger than us, of our own</p>
<p>age, those older than friends, even strangers.</p>
<p>There are five forms of formal traditional greeting enjoined in the &#8220;Shaastras&#8221; of which namaskaram is one.</p>
<p>This is understood as prostration but it actually refers to paying homage as we do today when we greet each</p>
<p>other with a namaste.</p>
<p>Namaste could be just a casual or formal greeting, a cultural convention or an act of worship.  However, there</p>
<p>is much more to it than meets the eye. In Sanskrit, Namah + te = namaste.  It means &#8211; one bow to you &#8211; my</p>
<p>greetings, salutations or prostration to you, Namaha can also be literally interpreted as &#8220;no ma&#8221; (not mine). It</p>
<p>has a spiritual significance of negating or reducing one&#8217;s ego in the presence of another.</p>
<p>The real meeting between people is the meeting of their minds.  When we greet another, we do so with</p>
<p>namaste, which means, &#8220;may our minds meet&#8221;. indicated by the folded palms places before the chest.  The</p>
<p>bowing down of the head is a gracious form of extending friendship in love and humility.</p>
<p>The spiritual meaning is even deeper.  The life force, the divinity, the Self or the Lord in me is the same in all.</p>
<p>Recognizing this oneness with the meeting of the palms, we salute with head bowed the Divinity in the person</p>
<p>we meet.  That is why sometimes, we close our eyes as we do namaste to revered person or the Lord-as if to look</p>
<p>within.  The gesture is often accompanied by words like &#8220;Ram Ram&#8221; or &#8220;Jai Shri Krishna&#8221;, &#8220;Namo Narayana&#8221;,</p>
<p>&#8220;Jay Sioya Ram&#8221;, &#8220;Om Shanti&#8221; etc.- indicating the recognition of this divinity.</p>
<p>When we know this significance, our greeting does not remain just a superficial gesture or word but paves the way for</p>
<p>a deeper communion with another in an atmosphere of love and respect.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In almost every Indian home, a lamp is lit daily before the altar of the Lord.  In some houses,</p>
<p>it is lit at dawn, in some, twice a day &#8211; at dawn and dusk- and in a few, it is maintained continuously-</p>
<p>Akhand Deepak.  All auspicious functions commence with the lighting of the lamp, which is often</p>
<p>maintained right through the occasion.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Light symbolizes knowledge, and darkness-ignorance.  The Lord is the &#8220;Knowledge Princeiple&#8221;</p>
<p>(Chaitanya) who is the source, the enlivener and the illuminator of all knowledge.  Hence light is</p>
<p>worshiped as the Lord himself.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Knowledge removes ignorance just as light removes darkness. Also knowledge is the lasting inner</p>
<p>wealth by which all outer achievement can be accomplished. Hence we light the lamp to bow down to</p>
<p>knowledge as the greatest of all forms of wealth.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Why not light a bulb or tube light ? That too would remove darkness.  But the traditional oil lamp has</p>
<p>a further spiritual significance.  The oil or ghee in the lamp symbolizes our &#8220;Vaasanas&#8221; or negative</p>
<p>tendencies and the wick, the ego.  When lit by spiritual knowledge, the vaasanas get slowly exhausted an</p>
<p>the ego too finally perishes.  The flame of a lamp always burns upwards. Similarly we should acquire such</p>
<p>knowledge as to take us towards higher ideas.</p>
<p>Whilst lighting the lamp we thus pray &#8220;</p>
<p>Deepajyothi parabrahma, Deepa sarva tamopahaha,</p>
<p>Deepena Saadhyate saram, Sandhya deepo namostute.</p>
<p>I prostrate to the dawn/dusk lamp; whose light is the knowledge principle (the supreme Lord),</p>
<p>which removes the darkness of ignorance and by which all can be achieved in life.</p>

<p>as per Swami Chinmayanandji.  I am just reciting the contents of it for the benefit of maximum readers.</p>
<p><strong>Why do we have a Pooja Room?</strong>: Most Indian homes have a prayer room or altar.  A lamp is lit and the Lord</p>
<p>worshiped each day. Other spiritual practices like Japa-repetition of the Lord&#8217;s Name, meditation, Paaraayana-</p>
<p>reading of the scriptures, prayers, and devotional singing etc. are also done here. Special worship is done on</p>
<p>auspicious occasions like nbirthdays, anniversaries, festivals and the like.  Each member of the family- young or</p>
<p>old-communes with and worships the Divine here.</p>
<p>The Lord is the entire creation.  He is therefore, the true owner of the house we live in too.  The prayer room is</p>
<p>the Master room of the house.  We are the earthly occupants of His property.  This notion rids us of false pride, ego</p>
<p>and possessiveness.</p>
<p>The ideal attitude to take is to regard the Lord as the true owner of our homes and us as caretakers of His home.  But</p>
<p>if that is rather difficult, we could at least think of Him as a very welcome guest.  Just as we would house an important</p>
<p>guest in the best comfort, so too we felicitate the Lord&#8217;s presence in our homes by having a prayer room or altar, which is</p>
<p>at all times, kept clean and well-decorated.</p>
<p>Also the Lord is all pervading.  To remind us that He resides in our homes with uis, we have prayer rooms.  Without the</p>
<p>grace of the Lord, no task can be successfully or easily accomplished.  We invoke His grace by communing with Him in the</p>
<p>prayer room each day and on special occasions.</p>
<p>Each room in a house is dedicated to a specific funcvtion like the bed-room for resting, the drawing room to receive guests,</p>
<p>the kitchen for cooking etc.  The furniture, decor and the atmosphere of each room are made conducive to the purpose it serves.</p>
<p>So too for the purpose of meditation, worship and prayer, we should have a conductive atmosphere-hence the need for a prayer room.</p>
<p>Sacred thoughts and sound vibrations pervade the place and influence the minds of those who spend time there.  Spiritual thoughts</p>
<p>and vibrations accumulated through regular meditation, worship and chanting done there pervade the prayer room.  Even when we are</p>
<p>tired or agitated, by just sitting in the prayer room for a while, we feel calm, rejuvenated and spiritually uplifted.</p>

<p>યુગોથી આ વિષયમાં સંપાદિત થયેલો વિશ્વાસ હવે ડગમગાવા લાગ્યો છે. આપણા અભણ</p>
<p>અને ભણેલા બન્ને વર્ગોના અંધ-વિશ્વાસ તેમજ અંધ-શ્રદ્ધાને કારણે, બિલાડાના ટોપની જેમ</p>
<p>ફૂટી નીકળેલા અને સૂંઠને ગાંગડે ગાંધી થયેલા, નહીવત/અલ્પ જ્ઞાન ધરાવનારા જ્યોતિષીઓનો</p>
<p>ફાળો આ વિષયને બદનામ કરવામાં ઓછો નથી. તેમાં ઉમેરો થયો છે ગ્રહોના રત્નો વેચવાવાળાઓ</p>
<p>તેમજ સોનીઓનો જે લોકોને તેમની રાશિ પ્રમાણે ગ્રહનું રત્ન પહેરવા માટે પ્રેરે છે.</p>
<p>જ્યોતિષ શાસ્ત્ર પ્રમાણે, કોઈપણ ગ્રહ, તેની દશા કે અંતર્દશા દરમ્યાન ફળ આપવા તત્પર બને છે.</p>
<p>ધારો કે દશાનાથ બળવાન થઇ, શુભ ગ્રહોથી દ્રષ્ટ છે અને ધનેશ , ભાગ્યેશ કે લાભેશ છે તો તેની</p>
<p>દશામાં જાતકને સારામાં સારું ફળ મળવું જોઇયે પરન્તુ જોવામાં એ આવ્યું છે કે ઘણીવાર શુભ</p>
<p>ગ્રહોની દશામાં પણ જાતક અતિશય દુખી થાય છે.  તેનું મુખ્ય કારણ જો દશાનાથ, જન્મ નક્ષત્રથી</p>
<p>૩જા ૫મા, ૭મા, ૧૨મા, ૧૪મા, ૧૬મા, ૨૧મા, ૨૩મા કે ૨૫મા નક્ષત્રમાં  હોય તો અવશ્ય ખરાબ ફળ આપે છે અને જો આ દશા દરમ્યાન, જે તે ગ્રહનું નંગ કે રત્ન પહેરવામાં આવે તો ખરાબ ફળમાં  વધારો જ થશે.</p>
<p>ઘણા લોકોની માન્યતા એવી છે કે ગુરુ શુભ ગ્રહ હોવાથી ખરાબ ફળ આપી જ ન શકે પરન્તુ,</p>
<p>જો મકર કે કુંભ લગ્ન હોય અને જો ગુરુ કેન્દ્ર કે ત્રિકોણમાં હોય તો અચૂક ખરાબ ફળ જ આપશે</p>
<p>કારણ કે આ બન્ને લગ્નોમાં ગુરુ રિપુ સ્થાનોનો માલિક બને છે.  આવા જાતકો જો ગુરુની દશા</p>
<p>દરમ્યાન પુખરાજ ધારણ કરે તો, ગુરુ ઉચ્ચનો હોવા છતાંપણ ખરાબ ફળ જ આપશે. કારણ કે જે</p>
<p>ગ્રહ ખરાબ ફળ આપવા માટે જ સર્જાયેલો છે, તેનું નંગ ધારણ કરવાથી તે (દુશ્મન) વધુ બળવાન</p>
<p>થાય છે. માટે જો રત્નો પહેરવાનો શોખ જ હોય તો કોઈ અનુભવી અને જાણકાર જ્યોતિષીની</p>
<p>સલાહ લઈને જ પહેરવું. આડેધડ રત્નો પહેરી, “આ બૈલ મુઝે માર” જેવી સ્થિતિ હાથે કરીને ન કરવી.</p>

<p>સૂત સફરાં અંગ પે &#8211; પોતે ન પણ કાંતે કે વણે, જયાફતો માણે &#8211; ન ભૂમિપાક પોતાના લણે,</p>
<p>લોક જે દારુ વિદેશી રોજ ઢીંચે ખંતથી, વતન કેરું મધ્ પરંતુ જેમણે ચાખ્યું નથી.</p>
<p>રંગ છે બહાદુર &#8211; બિરદાવી ફૂલેકે ફેરવે, જે પ્રજા નાચી રહે ગુંડા ટણકને ટેરવે,</p>
<p>ને દમામે જીતનારાને ગણે દાનેશરી, હાય એવા દેશના જાણો ગયા છે દી&#8217; ફરી.</p>
<p>ભાવનામાં વાસના કેરાં વછોડે આંગળા, જિંદગીમાં એ પિશાચીનાં પછી ચાટે તળાં,</p>
<p>મરશિયા વિણ મોકળું ક્યાંયે ગળું નાં મૂકતા, એકલી ડંફાસ ખંડેરો મહીં જઈ ફૂંકતા.</p>
<p>માંચડે ફાંસી તણે ચડતાં, કપાતાં ખંજરે, એ વિના જે હરફ હોઠે કાઢતાંયે થરથરે.</p>
<p>જાણજો એ લોકને કાજે રહ્યા છે છાજિયાં, દોસ્તો, સફરના સાથીઓ, એ દેશની ખાજો દયા.</p>
<p>લોકનેતા લોંકડી શા જ્યાં કપટના કાંધિયા,ભૂર ભાષાના મદારી હોય પંડિત વેદિયા,</p>
<p>નામ ફૂટીને કળાનું થીગડાં મારી ફરે, જ્યાં જુવાનો નકલ નખરાંમાંય ફિસિયારી કરે</p>
<p>નવા રાજાને કહે વાજા વગાડીને, જિયો, જાય તો પાછળ ઉડાડી ધૂળ બોલે હૂરીયો,</p>
<p>ને છતાં એ કોઈ બીજાને પછી સત્કારવા, એ જ નેજા, એ જ વાજાં, એ જ ખમ્મા, વાહ વા,</p>
<p>જાણજો એવી પ્રજાના ખીલડા ખૂટલ થયા, દોસ્તો, સફરના સાથીઓ, એ દેશની ખાજો દયા.</p>
<p>મૂક જર્જર જ્યાં મહર્ષિઓ અવસ્થા કારણે, જેમના શૂરા જનો પોઢ્યા હજી છે પારણે,</p>
<p>ભાગલા પાડી ઉડાડે નોખનોખી જે ધજા, ને બધાં એ ભાગ પોતાને ગણે આખી પ્રજા,</p>
<p>જાણજો, એવી પ્રજાનાં પુણ્ય પરવારી ગયાં, દોસ્તો સફરના સાથીઓ, એ દેશની ખાજો દયા.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Our Honourable Home Minister, Mr. P. Chidambaram,  has very recently said</p>
<p>in a unified command&#8217;s  meeting that India will not surrender to the threatening</p>
<p>of  Ilias Kashmiri, a leader of   Harquat-ul-Jehadi.  Well, on the other hand, during</p>
<p>his one day visit to J&amp;K, he has given a green signal to the proposal by Omar Abdullah,</p>
<p>Chief Minister of J&amp;K,  of rehabilitating militants from POK to J&amp;K who surrender.</p>
<p>We all know that many anti-national activists from J&amp;K, shifted to POK and they have</p>
<p>been operating from there with the help of  ISI and even Pakistani Government.  Permitting</p>
<p>them to settle in India, will make it more easier for them to send terrorists to our country.</p>
<p>This nasty decision has been taken at a critical moment when our country has been threatened</p>
<p>by a militant Ilias Kashmiri  of attacks on IPL and Hockey matches.  There have already been a</p>
<p>blast in Pune very recently.</p>
<p>While assuring of rehabilitation of militants from POK to J&amp;K, Hon. Home Minister Sir, have</p>
<p>you ever thought of rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits, who have been living in a pitiable</p>
<p>condition in refugee camps in and around Delhi, for over two decades?  What was their fault</p>
<p>for being thrown out of Kashmir ? Merely because they were not militants and were loyal and</p>
<p>faithful to the country?.  Don&#8217;t you think two decades is too long a period to wait for justification</p>
<p>from our own Government?.   Our Late Prime Ministers, Pt. Nehru, Smt. Indira Gandhi and</p>
<p>Rajiv Gandhi and today&#8217;s  &#8216;Shahajada&#8217; , Rahulbaba all have Kashmiri Pandit blood flowing in</p>
<p>their veins.  It seems it has frozen.  I am extremely sorry for the harsh words that I have used</p>
<p>but let me make it very clear that if you all being Kashmiri Pandits, could not solve the problem</p>
<p>of  your own people for more than two decades, what would you really do for the Nation on</p>
<p>the whole?  Bear it in mind, &#8220;Charity always begins at home first&#8221;.</p>

<p>પાશ્ચાત્ય સંસ્કૃતિનુસાર, કોઈ પણ વાત ને સહેજ રીતે ન માનીને, તેનું પોસ્ટમાર્ટમ કરી ‘વૈજ્ઞાનિક’ એવું રૂપકડું નામ આપી અહેવાલ રજુ કરવાની સામાન્ય રીત છે. જો કે આ  વૈજ્ઞાનિક અહેવાલ પણ અધૂરો છે કારણ કે સાંધાનાં દુઃખાવા માં રાહત શા કારણ થી મળે છે તે નથી દર્શાવ્યું.</p>
<p>આપણા  ઋષિમુનિઓએ દર્શાવેલ અષ્ટાંગ યોગના ચોથા પગથીયા પર પ્રાણાયામ છે. પ્રાણાયામનો  અર્થ,  પ્રાણ(શ્વાસ) નો આયામ એટલે કે શ્વાસને એક નિર્ધારિત ગતિ, લય, પ્રદાન કરી નિયંત્રણ માં રાખવો. સ્વામી રામદેવજીએ, યોગીજનોની  કંદરાઓ સુધી જ સીમિત થઇ ગયેલા યોગ અને પ્રાણાયામને, બહુ જન હિતાય , સામાન્યજન સમક્ષ લાવવાનો ભગીરથ પ્રયાસ કર્યો છે.</p>
<p>સ્વામીજીએ દર્શાવેલ ભસ્ત્રિકા અને અનુલોમ-વિલોમ પ્રાણાયામ, સંપૂર્ણપણે ફેફસાની ક્ષમતા</p>
<p>વધારનાર છે. વધતી જતી ઉંમરે, ફેફસાની અને હૃદયની ક્ષમતામાં ઘટાડો થવાથી, વૃદ્ધત્વનાં</p>
<p>લક્ષણો દેખાવા લાગે છે. જો પ્રાણાયામ કરવામાં આવે અને ફેફસાની ક્ષમતાને બરકરાર રાખવામાં આવે તો વૃદ્ધત્વને પણ આગળ ધકેલી શકાય છે.</p>
<p>હવે ઉપર જણાવ્યા મુજબ ધીમે ધીમે ઊંડો લેવાતો શ્વાસ કેવી રીતે સાંધાનાં દુઃખાવામાં મદદરૂપ થાય છે તેનાં કારણો તપાસીયે.  ધીમે ધીમે લેવાતો શ્વાસ (પૂરક), પછી થોડીવાર રોકી રખાતો શ્વાસ (કુંભક) અને અંતમાં, ધીમે ધીમે ઉચ્છવાસ વાટે બહાર કઢાતો (રેચક) શ્વાસ, ઓક્સિજનને</p>
<p>સંપૂર્ણપણે કાર્બન-ડાયોકસાઈડમાં રૂપાંતરીત કરવા માટે પૂરતો સમય આપે છે. આમેય ઊંડો શ્વાસ લેવાથી વધુ માત્રામાં ઓક્સીજન ફેફસામાં જાય છે.  આ ઓક્સીજન આપણા  શરીરના કરોડો</p>
<p>કોષોને પહોંચે છે જેના થકી ઓક્સીજનના અભાવે ક્ષીણ થયેલા કોષો નવજીવન પામી સક્રિય થાય છે અને પરિણામે વ્યક્તિ તંદુરસ્ત, સ્ફૂર્તિલી અને આનંદમય રહે છે.</p>
<p>કરમની કઠીનાઈ એ છે કે આજના જેટયુગની પ્રતિસ્પર્ધામાં બીજા કરતાં આગળ નીકળી જવાની</p>
<p>લ્હાયમાં, બીજું બધું તો ઠીક પણ માણસ શ્વાસ પણ અધૂરા લેતો થઇ ગયો છે. એ અધૂરા લીધેલા શ્વાસ થકી મેળવેલો જૂજ  ઓક્સીજન તો તેના મગજ માટે પણ અપૂરતો છે. કારણ કે આજકાલ, શરીર કરતાં માણસનું મગજ વધુ કામ કરે છે.  પરિણામે શરીરનાં  કોષો ને જોઈતો ઓક્સીજન ના મળવાને કારણે, અકાળે સાંધા નાં દુઃખાવા વગેરે નાં ભોગ થવાય છે.</p>
<p>આપના શાસ્ત્રોમાં બતાવ્યા મુજબ, શિવ-સ્વરોદય પ્રમાણે મનુષ્ય પ્રતિ મીનીટ ૧૬ શ્વાસોચ્છવાસ લે છે અને ૧૨૦ વર્ષનું આયુષ્ય ભોગવી શકે (જો યમ, નિયમ, આસન, પ્રાણાયામ અને પ્રત્યાહાર નું પાલન કરે તો ), માટે ઊંડા શ્વાસ લઇ, ધીમે ધીમે પૂર્ણરૂપે છોડવાથી શ્વાસોચ્છવાસનો પ્રતિ મીનીટ નો દર ૭-૮ કે તેનાથી પણ નીચે આવી, શરીરને નીરોગી રાખી આયુષ્ય વધારશે.  પ્રાચીન કાળમાં</p>
<p>આપણા ઋષિમુનીઓ પ્રાણાયામ દ્વારા શ્વાસોને નિયંત્રણમાં રાખી ૧૦૦૦ વર્ષ નું આયુષ્ય ભોગવવાના દાખલા આપણા પુરાણોમાં છે.</p>
<p>આધુનિક કહેવાતા જમાનાની સાથે કદમતાલ કરી જરૂર આગળ વધો મિત્રો પણ સાથે સાથે</p>
<p>૨૪ કલાકમાંથી ફક્ત એક કલાક તમારા પોતાના માટે ફાળવી, પ્રાણાયામ અચૂક કરો જેનાથી</p>
<p>તમે ઉર્જાવાન બની પ્રગતિના પંથે સોપાનો સર કર્યે જશો તેમાં બે-મત નથી. તેમાથીજ નિર્માણ થશે પૂર્ણ-વિકસિત રાષ્ટ્ર, ભારતનો. એ ભારત કે જેનો આપણે સહુ ગર્વ લઇ  શકીશું.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Mr. Jaswant Singh, has entered into a controversy again by quoting Jinnah as a hero and criticizing Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru and Sardar Vallabbhai Patel&#8217;s roll in India&#8217;s partition in 1947.  Whatever controversial he might have mentioned , may be his own thoughts.  I am of    the opinion that he should not have thrown a stone  on a h0neycomb by making his thoughts public.  Perhaps one can abuse somebody verbally but should never put those abusive words on paper.  Even if his book was not banned in Gujarat, I would never have read it because, I don&#8217;t read anything which has been written for merely getting cheap publicity.</p>
<p>However, I think, Mr. Jaswant Singh has very poor knowledge of history, though, I believe, he is a pro-independence born alike me.  It is an universal fact that had Sardar Patel not been there, during partition time, there would have been two more Pakistans in India itself, i.e. Junagadh as Central Pakistan and Hyderabad as Southern Pakistan.  If he were not active, India would definitely been divided into 15 or 20 Kingdoms instead of a one Nation. Jaswantsinghji, Mr. Patel was known as an iron man by even britishers that time.  Your hand should have shivered before writing anything against a personality like Sardar Patel.</p>
<p>I as a Brahmin, a taken for granted Guru (preacher) for Kshatriyas (Raajputs), would seek your answer to my question that did your Raajput blood not boil while escorting those three terrorists to Gandhar (This word sound better as Gandhar was a part of India during Mahabharata time) to rescue those 150 odd passengers who were held to ransom. You just pass on the blame to Mr. Advani that he was aware of the situation but don&#8217;t take a blame yourselves that you were also one of those five people involved in taking such a nasty decision.</p>
<p>Today, you speak against the party only because you have  been expelled and are left without any portfolio .  You were with the party people for decisions whatsoever while holding a portfolio of an External Affairs Minister.</p>
<p>Your first attempt to write a book has given you a label of a controversial author. Please have self realization and find out the causes.  Wish you have spirit of admitting mistake on your part and give clarification and if possible confess publicly. Good luck.</p>
